I truly can’t believe how time flies! Our doodle puppy, Sophie, just turned one year old! How can that even be possible!? =) We decided we’d make her weekend and actual birthday the best one ever. As mentioned earlier, she got to go swimming in the lake for the first time ever, she played with a bunch of new dogs at the dog park, visited her grandparents (aka Kevin and my parents), ate some “Oatmeal Mint Sophie Cookies” that I made especially for her, ate a home cooked meal on her birthday, took car rides, stuck her head out the window, and got to take a long photo walk with balloons! Not to mention I made this special birthday cake for her! Yeah… she’s spoiled. Thankfully, it doesn’t go to her head since she is by far the sweetest pup we’ve ever known! We love our “fur-baby” so much and are so happy she’s part of our family! =)

If you’re interested, here is the Berry Milkbone Doggy Cake recipe:
The Cake:
- 1 3/4 cup flour
- 2 Tbs. honey
- 3 eggs
- 3 Tbs. of coconut oil, melted
- 5 medium-sized, chopped strawberries
The Icing:
- 1 cup of plain yogurt (choose one with low sugar content)
- 3 Tbs. peanut butter
The Garnish:
- Blueberries
- 1 Strawberry
- Milkbones
- Peanut Butter (to attach the milkbones to the cake)
Preheat your oven to 350. Grease two ramekin dishes. Mix your cake ingredients in the blender until smooth and fold in the berries. Pour batter into the prepared ramekin dishes, about 3/4 of the way full. Bake for 15- 20 minutes. Let cool.
While your mini cakes are cooling, mix together your yogurt and peanut butter until smooth. Once cool, spread the icing onto the tops of each layer and stack. Garnish with berries & milkbones, and let your doggy enjoy!

Oh my word, you are the sweetest doggie parent ever! I am so glad you shared this recipe because when I get a dog, this will be the first thing I make them so they know they’re safe & in a good home. Sadly I have 2 cats right now :-/ and I am not a fan of cats! Seriously though, as soon as I get a dog I am making this ADORABLE cake! Happy birthday Sophie! x

That is seriously SO adorable. Especially that last picture!!! Definitely spoiled but she’s your fur-baby of course!!!! That is so cute you celebrated her birthday with so many presents and activities for her! I’ve heard about some great recipes for dog treats but haven’t had to urge to bake them yet. I think you’ve given me to push to make some of your recipes!!
