How To: DIY Kate Spade Inspired Striped Nesting Boxes (IKEA Hack)

I really, really, really wanted to fill my IKEA Kallax storage unit with Kate Spade nesting boxes! But after purchasing them (for an ungodly price at Nordstrom), I found out that they were yellow tinted instead of white. That broke the deal for me.  Not only were they expensive, they clashed with my white office.  Needless to say, they were returned. After that, I ran to IKEA and grabbed some plain white nesting boxes! I knew I would be able to paint them and make them look similar, if not better, than the Kate Spade ones! {here’s my plain organizational unit from IKEA before adding color}{so you want to paint your boxes, too? here’s what you need: blue painters tape in desired width, ruler, acrylic paint, small paint brush, and sponge pant brush}

{i measured 3mm for everything. take your ruler and make sure you go up 3mm from the bottom of the box, then place the tape evenly making sure it also covers a 3mm stripe}

 {take the same piece of tape and wrap it around each side of the box, measuring to make sure it is even.  note: i went around the box twice for each stripe since my tape wasn’t exactly 3mm}
