Biohacking Our Way To Less Stress with Apollo Neuro
Biohacking. Not a topic you thought you’d see on The Chambray Bunny blog? Well, I’m all for surprising you! 🙂
So what is biohacking? You can ask different people and get a huge range of answers, but my definition would be “the attempt to positively alter your brain and body in order to optimize performance, outside the sphere of traditional medicine.”
Enter Apollo Neuroscience and their Apollo Device.
Is it magic? It honestly seems like it. But it’s backed by a tremendous amount of research and was developed by physicians and neuroscientists. Apollo uses gentle vibrations to help your body recover from stress. How does Apollo work?
- Choose where to wear it: Either your ankle or your wrist. I have very small wrists, so it does look rather large on mine. So I typically wear the device on my ankle. Kevin also prefers wearing it on his ankle.
- Select a mode from the app: Energy & Wakeup, Clear & Focused, Rebuild & Recover, Social & Open, Meditation & Mindfulness, Relax & Unwind, and Sleep & Renew. (More on this below)
- Feel it work! You’ll feel the gentle vibrations that are scientifically proven to improve your resilience to stress! Many people say it feels like a hug from someone safe. Kevin and I both agree that we feel “gentle vibrational waves that give you a feeling of calm.”
How do you want to feel today?
It’s so easy to choose the mode that you’d like to start feeling! Here’s a little breakdown of each of the 7 modes.
- Energy & Wakeup – feeling a bit like the afternoon slump has got you? Instead of caffeine, you can use this mode for a little 5 min boost!
- Apollo suggests using it for:

- Clear & Focused – one of my most used modes! I tend to be super unfocused when trying to complete tasks on the computer – always looking at my phone, pulling up another tab on the internet, checking emails, etc. The vibrations of this mode kick your body into an ultra-focused state and you can complete tasks quicker and with higher quality!

- Sleep & Renew – I use this every night! I set it for 120 min and it helps me fall asleep so quickly! Before I used Apollo, I would have insomnia and stay up for hours watching TV in bed. Now, I fall asleep before a 20-30 min episode is complete! And that’s me trying to stay awake. When I want to fall asleep it helps me fall asleep within 10 min. Like, heavy eyes and a body full of calm. It’s truly peaceful! And rarely any nightmares arise! If I happen to wake up in the middle of the night, I turn the Apollo back on and I’m back to sleep within 5-10 min. Such a game-changer!
